I am Dr. Hakkı Serkan Şahin, and your health becomes my utmost priority from the moment you entrust it to me. As a Cardiac and Vascular Surgeon, I have been serving the people of Ankara since 1999. I highly value the relationships I build with my patients, believing they play a significant role in improving health outcomes. If you'd like to learn how I can assist you, feel free to reach out.
My Early Life and Education
Born in Kayseri in 1975, I experienced a dynamic childhood due to my father’s career as a civil servant. My primary school journey began in Kayseri in 1981, continued in Milan, Italy, for grades 2, 3, and 4, and concluded in Şanlıurfa, Turkey, for the 5th grade.
I began secondary education at Şanlıurfa Anatolian High School and later transitioned to İzmir Bornova Anatolian High School as a boarding student, graduating in 1993. That same year, I was accepted into Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine after excelling in the national exams (ÖSS and ÖYS). After six rigorous years of study, I graduated in 1999 as a medical doctor.
But this was only the beginning...
Pursuing Cardiac Surgery
My passion for becoming a cardiac surgeon drove me to take the Medical Specialization Examination, where I was accepted into Hacettepe University’s Cardiac and Vascular Surgery Department. My residency began in November 1999 and concluded in 2005 with the completion of my thesis, titled “Evaluation of the Effects of Glutamate-Aspartate-Enriched Warm Blood Cardioplegia on Hemodynamic Parameters, Cardiac Enzyme Levels, and Ventricular Functions.” I successfully passed the certification exams to become a specialist in Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, completing a 24-year-long educational journey.
